In 2022, the March equinox will occur on Sunday, March 20, at 11:33 A.M. EST. If you happen to live in the Northern Hemisphere, this date will also mark the start of the spring season. But if you live in the Southern Hemisphere, the March equinox actually ushers in autumn and colder weather. Think Australia.
After March 20, the Northern Hemisphere begins to be tilted more toward the Sun, resulting in increasing daylight hours and warming temperatures. Yes!
What does the word “equinox” mean? It comes from the word “equal night”. On the equinox, the days equal the nights.
I think we are all ready for the daylight to equal the darkness of the night. The early winter months of 2022 were difficult because of the pandemic, making the shorter days even harder to cope with. More sun and longer days? Yes, please!
Our Coffee & Cocktails Spring Fling scheduled for April 18, 2022, is ramping up to be a great spring event.
This event is free for the artists to show off their spring items and new collections while offering specials to retailers throughout the day. We also want to use this event to help support the Ukrainian people affected by the horrific invasion by Russia. We will donate 10% of the total sales that day to a friend of IndieMe that is raising money for her family and friends still in Ukraine. Every small amount and gesture will help Ukraine.
