Awaken and be Refreshed
Spring is here! Open your windows and let the fresh air in.
Most of us like spring and if you don’t, I am guessing it is probably due to allergies. I get it and suffer in May as well. However, there are so many amazing reasons to love spring.
The awakening of the trees! You start to see the buds and think soon the leaves will appear and then what seems like a day all the trees are full of leaves. I love when the leaves first come out because they are a brighter green and when the sun hits them they shimmer in the light.
Now every field is clothed with grass, and every tree with leaves; now the woods put forthe their blossoms, and the year assumes its gay attire.” -Virgil
The wildflowers start to appear. If you like to hike as I do, then you really appreciate the forest as it starts to wake up. First, you see all the purple violets, the wild daisies, the gorgeous lady slippers. Soon the mountain laurel begins to bloom and the forest is alive with whites, pinks, yellows, and purple.
Who doesn’t like increased daylight? The days get longer and the nights get shorter. You can count on it happening and for some, it awakens their soul and gradually helps them get rid of the winter blues. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is real and many suffer from it in the winter months. It can sap your energy and make you feel moody. Spring is the beginning of longer days with more sunlight and less darkness which equals happiness.
Spring equals renewal and warmth. It evokes something in us that cannot be measured and it gives us hope. In today’s world, we need hope.
Enjoy the beauty of this season and I hope it brings you happiness and joy!
Get outside, take it all in and create something beautiful today.
