Dear members and new members,

Thank you for being valued members of IndieMe. Once again, I am finding myself reaching out to our industry because of so many drastic changes we are witnessing. We plowed through Covid kicking and screaming, some of us did not survive, some of us barely survived, and all of us learned how important it is to stay focused, flexible, innovative, and courageous.

Many wholesale, “handcrafted” marketplaces popped up over the last few years, which is encouraging as it signals not only an interest in our industry, but also shows how important and viable shopping small, and shopping handcrafted is to the consumer.

Unfortunately, many of these marketplaces are realizing how hard it is to plan, design, develop, maintain, and innovate their platform within the handcrafted, wholesale industry while staying true to their mission statement and to their members. And that, ultimately, affects you as Artists and Buyers.

Some of these marketplaces institute rules you need to play by…

· You must give us your buyer list to waive commission fees.

· You must purchase a booth at a major tradeshow to join our platform.

· You can only communicate with your buyers through our platform.

· And so many more…

Now with the news that Hello Abound is moving to a drop shipping platform, I felt the need to remind everyone who IndieMe is and what we stand for in hopes you will share with non-IndieMe members so they can join a marketplace that stands alongside them.

IndieMe represents independent, wholesale, handcrafted Artists, Makers, and Designers from North America. We do this by allowing YOU to be in control of your own company. No commissions, no threats, no demands, just a friendly, supportive platform that thrives on transparency, honesty, and experience.

We have just celebrated 25 years in business but that does not make us old or outdated. It makes us solid, stable, and here for YOU. Jackie Adamany, President.
