Happy Fall Ya'll
The older term is “autumn” which first came into English in the 1300s. In time the “the falling of leaves” came to be associated with the season. It was shortened in the 1600s to “fall.”
Fall represents a time of transformation for us both personal and environmental. During the fall the animals prepare for the winter by storing food and creating hibernation spaces. The beautiful colors of gold, yellow, red, and orange change the landscape. This is the final color before the leaves fall off and the winter descends. “A period of maturity verging on decline.”
The beginning of fall brings the excitement of a new school year and new friends. It is a time to watch football, carve pumpkins, enjoy a haunted night of Halloween, Thanksgiving and an extra hour of sleep.
For some fall represents putting on your favorite sweater for the first time in months or drinking a hot Pumpkin Latte. As the evenings start to become cooler, fall is the perfect time to gather around a bonfire with friends and family.
