Life is more interesting when we are inspired by the things we see around us everyday
I find art making to be an ongoing learning process and practice. My intention is to make images which uniquely express and capture specific moods using the elements of color and composition.
The beauty of nature is my continual inspiration. As a child, I roamed the bluffs around our home in rural Minnesota and was fascinated by the tiny details of wildflowers, trees, birds and other wildlife.
I want the wearer to know that their piece was made by a person, and not in a factory. I admire the small imperfections and feel my pieces mimic nature in that way.
I am asked often what inspires my work. My mother was a painter and photographer and when I was a child, she and I spent time in many creative projects together.
